Keith's CT6M
Carvin BBS ID: Bundy
Keith has an impressive collection of Carvin guitars and amps, and
this is no exception. It's a CT6M, finished in Carvin's
extraordinary Dragonburst finish on quilted maple. In fact,
this is the first (and as of this writing, the only) CT in this
finish, and it looks fantastic. The body and neck are
mahogany, and gold tuners and abalone block inlays complete the
package.

Russell Eckhart's CT6C
Carvin Museum Forums ID: E Min Dim 7
This is a beautiful CT6C, finished
in Greenburst on quilted maple with a matching headstock. Russell ordered
it with a minimal burst, which was a good move, because it leaves the majority
of the gorgeous quilt exposed. Other features include a rosewood
fingerboard with abalone block inlays, gold hardware, and a Floyd Rose tremolo
with locking nut. Russel says:
"This is my first Carvin and it
is perfect. I honestly didn't not know what to expect when I placed the order.
However, when the "Green Meenie" arrived I was absolutely blown away. The fit &
finish are perfect. The action is amazing. The sound and tone capabilities are
very impressive. I love my new Carvin!!!"

Scott Rosenberger's
CT6T
Carvin BBS ID: Scott Rosenberger
This is an
unusual and unique CT6 model. It has a very nice quilted top finished in
deep triple-step black with matching headstock. What sets this one away
from every other CT is that it has a 2-piece koa body and koa neck - the first,
and probably only (at this writing) CT made from koa. And it's nice koa
too, with interesting figure in the wood. The neck is tung-oiled, with
ebony fingerboard, abalone block inlays and stainless steel frets. It has
gold hardware and Sperzel tuners, and Scott replaced the Wilkinson tremolo with
a Hipshot model.

Unknown
CT6T Pair
Here's quite an
unusual pair of CT6Ts (above and below). They were made with
customer-supplied exotic wood, and then subsequently sold on eBay. Their
current whereabouts are unknown.
The
CT6T above (and the headstock on the right) has a cherry body with
clear gloss finish, and a quilted redwood top and headstock.
It also has a Macassar ebony fingerboard with no inlays, black hardware
and Wilkinson tremolo.
The
CT6T below has a mahogany body and neck, with a very nice one-piece
burled maple top and bocate fingerboard with no inlays. It has
gold hardware and Wilkinson tremolo.
Note that these are special orders, and not something Carvin would
ordinarily do. None of the woods are standard on Carvin
instruments, and even if you were able to supply exotic wood of your
own, a custom build like this is quite expensive. With that
said, Carvin is known for their willingness to accommodate unusual
requests - give them a call! |

Here's the first left-handed
addition to the carved top page, and it is a nice one. This
finish, called Deep Tiger Eye Triple Stain (on flame) was added to
Carvin's list of colors specifically for the carved top models. In
addition to that finish, this one has a mahogany body with mahogany
tung-oiled neck, rosewood fingerboard, abalone block inlays, gold hardware, and black pickups
with cream bezels. |

Another great
example of the new California Carved Top - in this case, the 2nd one ordered
from Carvin, and possibly the first with a quilt top. And what a quilt!
The umber stain with sunsetburst edges looks fantastic, and these pictures
probably don't do it justice. Other features of this one include matching
headstock, abalone block inlays on ebony fingerboard, and chrome hardware.
Nice!

Here's another
outstanding Ct model, in this case, a CT6T (the "T" indicating it's
equipped with a Wilkinson tremolo). It's finished in Deep
Tiger Eye Triple Step Stain on flamed maple natural body binding, on
a mahogany body and neck. This is one of the first CT's made
with a Birdseye maple fingerboard, and it looks great with the Tiger
Eye finish. Other features include gold hardware, and C22B and
C22N pickups.
John's CT6M
Carvin BBS ID: jkd6h
This is
another example of what someone with a vision can come up with, and what
Carvin's craftsmen can produce. This particular CT6M is finished
in Deep Sunsetburst on quilted maple, but what sets this apart from the
rest is that the back is paint solid, rather than finished in clear
gloss on mahogany. And it looks great! Other features
include black C22B and C22T pickups, abalone block inlays and chrome
hardware. John also has a DC127T - see it
here.

Rabi Singh's CT6T
Carvin BBS ID: The Rabbi
Like John's
CT6M above, this CT6C was made with a solid-colored back, in
this case, gloss black. And that gloss black back
looks fantastic with the triple-step deep blue on quilt top and the
natural binding. Add in the black hardware and black
pickups with the abalone
blocks,
and the result is a totally unique, very classy looking CT.
Excellent design concept by Rabi, and perfect execution by
Carvin. |

had this guitar for very long, it is absolutely gorgeous! Not only is it a
pleasure to look at, but it plays unbelievably well and has tone that is
amazing. This is my first Carvin Guitar, as I mostly play Ernie Balls and old
Kramers. I gotta say, this is just an absolute surprise when it comes to
playability and tone. Thumbs up to Carvin on this one. If anyone up here has
