David Green's
Collection
Here is a huge and
impressive collection of mostly Carvin basses with a few guitars and
amps thrown in for good measure. Below are (many) pictures of
each, as well as details of all. Very nice!
|
First up is
David's 1983 LB40. It's a classic instrument,
finished in red, with a maple body and maple set neck with ebony
fingerboard. It has a single M22B humbucker with volume
and tone controls, and a coil splitter.

From a similar era
is this 1985 LB50, in beautiful clear gloss on flamed
koa. This is a great example of a classic Carvin
"high-end" bass - at the time, you couldn't get one much fancier
than this. Other features of this one are stereo-wired
M22B pickups with dual volume and tone controls, coil splitters,
phase switch and chrome hardware.

On the
right is David's LB70F. It's tung-oiled
maple with a maple neck and lined ebony fingerboard.
On the
left is a beautiful AC40, with a bound flamed
koa top and blackburst edges. |

 |
Above
and on the left is David's mid-90's LB70.
It has a maple neck and koa body wings, with black
chrome hardware and Wilkinson bridge. |

 |
Here
is David's recent LB70 (also shown above
right). It has a 5-piece maple and koa neck,
walnut body wings, and gold hardware. |
 |
David has
a trio of B4 basses. On the far left (below) is
a B4F, finished in sunsetburst on swamp ash. It
has active electronics, with an HB2/J99 pickup
configuration, lined ebony fretless fingerboard, and chrome
hardware. The B4 in the center (below) is clear
gloss on swamp ash with a maple fingerboard, active
electronics and black chrome hardware. On the right
(below) is is David's B4 "Carvinstein", made from
spare parts. It has an alder body finished in walnut
stain. David has since upgraded this one with a new
Hipshot bridge, gold knobs and active electronics.

Here's

These
are David's acoustic and acoustic electric Carvins.
From the left: Cobalt C850, AC40
(shown above), C450T bass, AC175 in
tobacco sunburst.
Below

On the
left is David's 1982 Pro Bass 300, which is bought
new. It's loaded with JBL speakers, which was
an upgrade from the MagnaLab speakers that were
standard. Below are some of David's other
Carvin gear, including an R1000 Cyclops and some PA
gear. He also has an A100G and PB200.
